Today's post is sent from the crossing between Ireland and Wales. In short, I'll be away for a while on a holiday in Ireland. Of course, I shall be talking about like no tomorrow, I assure you.

Hardcore Gaming

A few of my friends would class me as a geek. Some would describe me as a first class prick. But anyway, they know how much into the geek culture I am particularly when it comes to computers. So when I'm asked what kind of gamer I am, considering my love for geek culture, I stumble a bit. See, I'm not one of those people who would really enjoy long sessions of Halo or Call of Duty (or CoD as I have been told.. Why it's named after a fish, I have no idea) but I'd play an hour's worth. I'm not a massive fan of that genre of game anyway. I prefer, of all systems, the Wii.


I could play hours, upon hours of games on the Wii, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is one I payed until my eyes had strained. I'm actually itching to buy more remotes so we can properly play Super Mario Wii. I wouldn't consider myself to be a hardcore gamer, I play to much colourful and 'family friendly' games but I really, really get into them to the point where it's like any other teenaged boy and his Xbox. Which for the record, sucks.

The Gallery : Self Portrait

Over at Sticky Fingers (a greatly amusing blog, I must include) has this weekly contest/bit of fun called The Gallery in which bloggers will follow a certain theme and they go out and photograph that theme. This week, it be Self Portraits.


Now, I'm not that fond of taking pictures of myself so I'm going to use expressive imagery to show my point. Bloody hell.

Anyway, like most teenagers today, I am an internet whore. I'm one of those people who cannot understand how the hell people had lived before 1996.. Only with the understanding that the internet only became public in the 90's. Not, like 2000. So, my picture symbolises this idea of the fact that I am, for the most part, on my computer doing something really geeky or so forth. Anyway, I really suggest that you have a good look at the entries and maybe submit. It only takes a while.

Apple are the evil one's now!

I've been using Apple computers for nearly a year now and I like how they make their products even if they are expensive for standard computers, let's say I love OS X so much that it's worth the couple hundred more. Yeah, that works!


Anyway, they have been getting bad press lately, no. Going crazy when their prototype was 'stolen' to the point of confusing nearly everyone who ever knew about it. I don't even know if the guy's office was raided or what.. Is it legal? So many bloody questions that we will never find the answer to. Then we have the whole iPad thing. After the question that Jobs had answered that claimed that Android's users are all sex addicts who heart porn or something. Also, the whole lack of flash on the iPad for Jobs' belief in protecting children from Flash's numerous porn sites and what have you.


Why do I get the feeling that Apple along with it's slightly mad CEO are slowly going to escape consumer interest with their silly plans based on personal beliefs resulting in one very useless device. Microsoft, you are forgiven. For now.

Why do you blog?

I’m not so good at creative writing. Actually, I’m pretty rubbish at it. If I had to write a book, it wouldn’t be a story of dragons or aliens but it would be of more factual things like the effects of caffeine on children. Get me?

Well, I blog because I like writing my opinions. It’s not like writing a story where you have to create a character, their background story and then you have create a scene and it’s background story; it’s not for me. You may call it laziness but I know writing down my opinions is easier because you already have the character and their background and you already have the setting and it’s background.. It’s just the more convenient that you are that person. I suppose that is the only reason I blog. So, I’m interested why you blog and would you suggest someone else to start blogging?

How twitter 'changes the world'

Like many other people who tweet, it’s always fun using the #hashtag system on a national TV event to see what people were tweeting about. My mother and I did just that for the first General Election TV debate and oh my word was I surprised. Okay, most of the tweeters were trying their best to be serious for the first few minutes; 15 minutes later, jokes of all kind came running in and RT’d like crazy.

I think it’s great that I am able to connect to with people and share opinions; wether they are serious ad intelligent or if they are clever, well-written jokes. It’s all good to me. Don’t get me wrong, there are some things people were saying that weren’t interesting to me (people who were looking at the policies and commenting (I had no idea)), but that was easy to avoid. Fellow tweeter, blogger and loving mother, Paula Maher (Blog|Twitter) had commented how twitter had really changed how people interact when a massive event, such as the TV debate, and how much of a complete arse news networks end up making themselves when they say “Twitter has changed this”. Okay, this isn’t the great example of my point here but whenever something serious pops up, we (as the twitter community) only really joke about while around 12% actually tweet about it seriously. Maybe it really can change the world, but not in the way the BBC and Sky think. btw, the jokes were actually funny!
