Feature Sunday: Water

*I shall be using flash for this post, please read on the website and not in a reader*

On Tuesday, Nottinghamshire had been hit with a massive rainstorm and it was conveniently timed during my lunch which I do not take kindly to. At all. But I thought more carefully; Water can be a great thing to photograph and it could be a lovely way of showing how unpredictable the world is. This feature will show the great photos I've seen this week which you drench your mind with.. ugh:

Show them the love, or something <3

Feature Sunday: A Study in Pink

*This post will be using Flash so please read in a webpage and not a reader*

So, I said I was going to keep this as a weekly thing but I guess that idea has gone out the window completely so I'm going to try and do it as much as I can. For you see, I've started writing this on Wednesday (and finished on Thursday) and this is more of a random selection of photographs I have picked out after picking my theme a couple minutes of thinking (and I would love you to suggest a couple) Anywho, here we go:

Feature Sunday: Food

So I've changed how I'll be featuring things. Of course, I'll be taking artists I know whilst sometimes heading for people I don't. I'm also going to be doing features on artworks of a certain theme and most of them will be photography but maybe I'll extend to other forms. I'll start off easy with a suggestion I had got from @nickie72 on twitter which was 'food'. Many thanks to her!

The artist I'll featuring this week goes by the name of bittykate on devaintART and she also blogs over at Whisk Kid (which I subscribe to) and as the name suggests, she bakes. I've picked a couple of her food stuffs I would love to be able to bake (an indulge upon)

Okay so this one.. I'd kill for.

She does sushi too... *Girly scream*

All of the recipies for these works are all available at Whisk Kid and I really suggest you subscribe to her blog.

Feature Sunday #5 KITTY SPECIAL ZOMG

*If you're reading in a RSS Reader, please open in the website as the features will be in Flash form*

This week, I am very happy to say, I'm feeling way to lazy. Rather than not post anything today, I thought I'd just post a couple of my favourite pictures from this week; much like any other ones but I won't critique each one as I usually do. I've also started to do a theme for this one to make up for that lack of commentary.

Feature Sunday #4

*If you're reading in a RSS Reader, please open in the website as the features will be in Flash form*

Erm, yeah. This week I've not really been keeping up with the photography trends and admittingly, I have a lot more stuff I'd love to feature but haven't had the space to include them in other features I do. To be fair, I could include them in the odd post but I prefer to keep my features very formal; or whatever.

Ocean colors is a great way to show how blue is quite a powerful colour and no doubt that some people will agree with me. I also think it's a clever way to portray a certain image and it's colours and it's something truly unique.

The photographer of Oak Tree is very much like me. Take that how you wish; good or bad but what I like about it is that it's an amateur shot with some idea of professionalism. To put simply, the photo looks professional for an amateur and I love it. The colours of the leaves, particularly, stand out very boldly to me.

As usual, you can suggest blogger's photos to me and I may just critique them.

Feature Sunday #3

I really should be writing but I do enjoy doing this and writing about it. Again, please respect the original artists and be sure to say how lovely they are. Much larger this week as I've seen so much more I love!

'music makes me happy' had the most simple and underrated concepts of art; combining two elements to create another. I love this piece because it gives the drawing a certain human character which I've never seen done so simply. That's not to say it shouldn't be as respected; Simple can be the best.

'The Train to Paradise' is a great shot. The lighting of this shot is very effective as it goes from dark to light from a bridge. I also like the effectiveness of the silhouettes on the left platform; adds a lot of mystery to the shot even it wasn't intended.

This is a lovely picture of the kitten Yuki taken by a very friendly photographer. I like it because it shows the playfulness of owning a kitten and shows that it's the cutest thing on the planet.

Feature Sunday #2

The artist of this piece is one of my favourites and he does an interesting look on photography and attempts to mix that with his own quirky personality. I love the way he takes his photos as he takes the preference of self portraits and he does them in ways I wish I could. Inspirational and quirky are the best ways I can describe this artist and his works.

'Sad' is a great conceptual photo showing how artstic one simple object can be made to carry a large depth of emotion. The lack of colour also adds to the effect but I think the subject of a clock always seemed sad to me; they never showed any bright emotion.

Those good ol' cameras convey such an old style and charm of the 80's; even the Polaroid cameras had a certain feel, charm and culture to them. I love these cameras for their style and charm. The picture of this shows how charming it was to look at one back then and how charming they look now.

I've done three again and I will be on the look out for another three for next weeks post. I also would like to apologise for the lack of photos for the Photo Every Day series and I have family over but I shall restart on Monday.

Feature Sunday #1

Hey everyone! This is my first time at featuring photographs other than my own so please bear with me. That being said, I have a layout of the post planned which basically consists of the photo and then my critique and/or comments.

This photo captured my attention for it's clever use of colour contrasting and it's extreme detail in the leave's vains. I love how the image shows some message of how insects are very brave and that they can also be majestic about it too..

The colour on this photo is one of the best I have seen in nature photos. The red with the white in the background brings out the colour and is very easy on the eyes. I also love how the frost goes over a few of the berries at the back to bring out the real temperature of the picture and it's sure to give you a frosty feel no matter how hot you feel.

So, that's it. Sorry that I used two plant photos however that seems to be the ones I enjoy the most; next week I shall try and be a bit more diverse. You can also send me links to photos which you think I should give my opinion on in the comments. Thanks!
